I am an award-winning cartoonist with a portfolio spanning thousands of cartoons across multiple genres in various languages crossing numerous countries over many years.

In other words, I have earned my stripes. (Or, shall we rather say, lines.)

I am based in South Africa, but my clientele is global. My real name is Jeremy Nell and I live in the northern suburbs of Cape Town with my wife, dogs, cat, parrot, and earplugs.

There is a lot written about me in the mainstream (and social) media. Most of it is fake news written by individuals who dislike my unpopular opinions. Which means that I’m probably doing something right.

The army of the emboldened and gleefully ill-informed is growing.
— Andrew Breitbart

I have been drawing cartoons professionally since 2005.

Some of my clients have included:

  • Newspapers - Sunday Times, City Press, Rapport, The New Age, The Witness, Daily Dispatch, Courrier International

  • Magazines - FHM, Playboy, Rolling Stone, The Big Issue, De Kat, Private Edition, South African Veterinary Association

  • Online news - Daily Maverick, EWN, eNCA, TechCentral, Maroela Media

  • Organisations - AfriForum, Solidarity, Sakalige, Institute Of Race Relations, OUTA, Free Market Foundation

  • Corporate - Investec, Microsoft, Webber Wentzel, Standard Bank, Kulula.com, MTN, Bizcommunity, Sage, Afrihost

I have published two books through Penguin.

Both are collections of my political work. The first (Jerm Warfare) was published in 2013, and the second (Comedy Club) was published in 2014. They are now both out of print.

My first book is the namesake of my YouTube series.

I also have a few awards.

Although I’ve mostly stopped participating in award ceremonies, I’ll nevertheless note a few accolades for which I’m very grateful.

  • 2011 Vodacom Journalist Of The Year (regional and national)

  • Mail & Guardian Top 200 Young South Africans, 2012

  • The Media Magazine Top 40 Under 40, 2013

  • Men’s Health Most Inspirational Men, 2014

  • Standard Bank Sikuvile Journalism Awards, 2014
